Epiphyllum is an epiphytic cactus
which generally grows out of the reach of sunlight. Here it is growing on
the 'cliff' at the rear of the house where there is summer sunlight only
for a few minutes daily. In 2008, it did not perform well because of the
general low level of summer light and low temperatures. This picture was
taken in 2007 and the plant was removed to another location with more sunlight.
