A monumental Agave americana on the rear terraces of Southern Comfort immediately makes us all yearn for more global warming.

P.S. Sadly, this agave is with us no more. In 2016 It produced a magnificent flower spike just over 8 metres in height. Although, when planted in 1997, it was several years old it was still tiny and had been suffering from severe dehydration. Its earlier problems did not have any effect on its subsequent growth.
