Helleborus corsicus (=argutifolius) is a very striking plant - both in terms of foliage and in terms of flowers. It seeds freely and is a prominent feature during winter. As might reasonably be expected, it is a native of Corsica, Napoleon Bonaparte's native land. The flower bud begib to develop during late autumn and open during midwinter to give a refreshing display of lime-green blooms.
