The 'black' form of the Lenten Rose (Helleborus
x hybridus 'Ballard's Black') is one of our favourite plants. This
one grows on the side of the lowest terrace at the rear of the house. The
plant is fairly long-lived, which is fortunate because it self-seeds only
with difficulty. It has so far come true from seed.
